What’s duct tape?

Duct tape is based on cloth and coated with rubber glue or hot melt glue on one or both sides. It can be divided into double-sided duct tape and single-sided duct tape, or rubber duct tape and hot melt duct tape. , of course there may be more other glues as well. Duct tape is easy to tear by hand and easy to use.

How does the duct tape produced?

The process of duct tape is like the picture shows, in short, there are four main processes: coating, rewinding, slitting, and then packed.

What are the features for the duct tape?

1. Waterproof and oil-proof : because the surface of the duct tape is covered with polyethylene PE film. it has the feature for  waterproof and oil-proof function.

2. Mark making: there are different color for the duct tape. Such as : brown, black, white, silver, red, green, blue, yellow. in this way, duct tape can be used in different area to distinguish and identify. It is similar to the warning tape.

3. High viscosity : it has strong viscosity, so the duct tape is widely used for the carpets, it is also called duct cloth tape, or duct carpet tape. They have the functions of bundling, sewing, and splicing.

4. Strong peeling force and tensile strength: cloth duct tape can used for heavy duty packaging and sealing

5. Easy tear off by hand: the duct tape was made of polyethylene PE film, it’s easy to tear by hand, it’s convenient.

What can be the duct tape used for?

Duct tape is a common tape in our daily life and has a wide range of uses. Here are two examples:
1. Used as a warning sign for zoning:

Our commonly used duct tape is brightly colored, and we can use it as a warning tape. Because the cloth duct tape is also called carpet tape, it is resistant to wear and tear. We use it as an area division and stick to the ground without worrying about being easily damaged. It can withstand high-intensity stepping without deformation. In addition, it has the advantage that the duct tape can be torn by hand without scissors.

2. For bundling heavy objects:

Vehicles are not allowed to enter the exhibition every time, and a car full of goods has to be safely transported into the venue, which is a major problem for a century. Later, we opened a roll of duct tape and wrapped it around to reinforce the cargo. The tensile strength of the duct tape held the cargo firmly in place. When we entered the venue, our goods arrived at their destination without moving.
