As we all know, there are many types of tapes, such as bopp packing tape, double sided tape, copper foil tape, warning tape, duct tape, electrical tape, washi tape, masking tape…etc. Among them, washi tape and masking tape are relatively similar, so many friends cannot see the difference between the two. So what’s the difference between paper tape and masking tape?

Washi tape:
Compared with ordinary tapes, it uses Japanese paper as the base material, and the surface is changed to paper. The paper is soft and suitable for covering sports equipment, rubber and plastic parts and construction sites, interior and exterior decoration, decoration spraying and painting. However, because the stickiness is not strong, there will never be any glue residue after tearing off. It can print as customer’s request.

Masking tape:
Masking tape is a roll-shaped adhesive tape made of masking paper and pressure-sensitive glue as the main raw materials.  It have differnt color for your reference. The viscosity is moderate, and it has good adhesion and shielding to most smooth surfaces. It is convenient, fast and beautiful to decorate in various high-end places or homes.

The difference between the two:
Washi tape:
1. Washi tape can withstand the effects of Hejia water, dimethylbenzene, Tianna water, etc., and washi tape can prevent degumming, decolorization, and the substrate paper is soft.
2. Its temperature resistance can reach 110°.
3. Washi tape is available in various colors, and its main base material is washi paper.
4. Moderate viscosity, good adhesion and shielding to most smooth surfaces, bends or corners, good workability, and can be quickly removed after use without leaving any glue residue.

Masking tape:
1. Masking tape is generally used for masking and protection in spray painting, baking paint coating, leather, shoemaking, electronic industries, etc., and is generally torn off after use.
2. The base material of masking tape is masking paper and pressure-sensitive glue.
3. It has high bonding ability and chemical solvent resistance.
4. It plays a very good role in various positioning and packaging, has good protection performance for the adherend, and has good covering and protection.
